Say that 10 times fast! So playing on the nautical theme and my love for vines I have begun designing a print for the wedding as well as some mock invitations. I don’t want to give it all away, so here are some of my drawings and inspiring photos.

I have been gathering up guest addresses all week because I definitely have invites on the brain. Here are some cute save the date ideas from Martha Stewart Weddings, swoon!

I have tried a few prototypes of the second one with some of the postcards from my show but have not had much luck…back to the drawing board!
I had been waiting for the FALL issue of Martha Stewart Weddings for quite some time in anticipation of seeing photos of Grace Bonney’s (of Design*Sponge) wedding. I was lucky to meet with Grace during her wedding week when she visited SCAD to speak in a panel discussion for Fashion Month. Her wedding took place in Savannah and has provided me with lots of inspiration for my upcoming Savannah wedding. Here are some of my favorite images from Martha Stewart Weddings.

Our wedding is taking place next October and Savannah’s weather can be pretty unpredictable at times. We are planning to have some southern sweet tea and lemonade at the ceremony site to refresh our guests.

and since the ceremony will be short and sweet, I thought that some fans like these would be great in place of a program. Cant you picture Frank’s silhouette on here? These were designed by Grace’s talented friend and maid of honor, Julia Rothman.

Since our wedding will be outdoors as well, we will be opting for the clear tent, just in case. I really love what they’ve done with the chandeliers in this one. Simple and elegant.
Thanks to Martha Stewart Weddings! I am a huge fan of the cupcake cake, especially since i’m into the frosting and Jon’s into the cake, it’s perfect for us.

We have tentatively booked the Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum as our reception site. Just waiting for a permit from the city for our ceremony site and we’ll be ready to hand over the deposit. It’s so great that we are now within the “less than a year away” time frame. Here are a few glimpses into this beautiful space…

Preferably there would be no tent like this, but judging by this last weekend…..a clear one may do!
I am letting my lovely bridesmaids pick out their own dresses in a color of my choice. Here are some options I stumbled across that I love. I wish I could just wear one of these! The ones below are all from the Norstrom Wedding Shop section.

And this one is from an Etsy Seller: IsadorasClothing.

and last but not least: David’s Bridal

The fragrant Garden in Forsyth Park, isn’t it lovely?

The garden was originally constructed in 1959 by the Garden Club Council of Chatham County, and was dedicated April 3, 1963. The garden was designed by the late Mr. Georges Bignault, and it was his final work as a Landscape Architect.
The Garden is surrounded by wells on three sides, helping to contain the fragrance of the plants and the fourth side is enclosed by the ornamental iron fence. The entrance is particularly enhanced by the handsome iron gates from the Old Union Station. These gates were erected in memory of Frances Smith Littlefield by members of her garden club and friends.
Through the years, the garden began to suffer from neglect and reached the point of needing renovation. This need was answered in 2002, when the Park & Tree Department, in collaboration with the Trustees Garden Club and the Junior League began to renovate the Fragrant Garden. Pressure washing, painting and infrastructure modifications were made, and new plant materials were installed.
These were designed by an alumni of the school I went to for undergrad (Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University). Karen Konzuk graduated from NSCADU in 1997 and has spent a decade realizing her vision of clean, considered and contemporary jewelry.
